26 years old with TNBC

Hello there, i'm Livi.

I'm 26 years old and a few days ago I was diagnosed with Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer.

I'm not certain what the stage is yet, but the lump in my breast is quite large and the cancer has travelled to my lymph nodes.

My MRI is next week and i'm terrified that it's spread even more. It's really hard to stay positive.

  • Hi Livi,

I'm sorry we are meeting on these circumstances, but you have come to the right place where you will receive support and the experiences of others in your situation.

I too was diagnosed with Grade 3 TNBC ( a very scary time!) in early Dec 21. It hadn't reached my lymph nodes at the time of my diagnosis, but not sure now as I still haven't had any treatment or a plan.

Try to preoccupy your mind with things that gear you away from your diagnosis. (I know it is hard). I will tell you NOT to google (but I know you will. It's something we can't help) your type of BC, as it will only serve to terrify you further than you already are. If you have any questions concerning your case, contact your BCN who will put your mind at ease.

In the meantime, the lovely ladies on here are the ones who will keep you sane. They know exactly what you're going through and how you feel. As I mentioned, someone else will reply shortly......give them a try, you'll like them. (I love em!).

I hope I've paved the way for you to allow others to try to make this journey for you as smooth as possible?

When next week is your MRI? Let me know (if you want).

    Take care Livi x

Big hugs and much love xx

  • Dear Liv,

sorry too hear the your have been diagnosed Bc,

This Forum is a great resource to find people going through the same, try and make friends with someone at the same stage it really helps to get you through.

Waiting for test results is such a worry, your mind tends to go to the worst case scenario, but once you have all the facts on the table you will feel better. Have you got support from your family and friends.

I am sure your Lymph Nodes would of done their job in containing it, you will need an MRI so they can plan your Treatment and use though images as i starting point so at least things are moving along for you. Have they said anything about what they may do treatment wise yet?

The positives is that you went to the Doctors, and now they can treat it, the treatment now is amazing they have lots of options and they will do all it takes.  It is hard to stay positive but you have got this! We absolutely know how you feel

im 38 with two young sons and have started Chemo for IDC grade 3 Stage 1.

Like I love life Said we are here if you needs us

    love Sarah

  • Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I had Grade 2 breast cancer and cancer was found in 2 underarm lymph nodes. After an op and treatment I'm on medication and feeling fine. Try not to overthink it. We are all here for you

  • Hi guys, thank you for the kind words.

The doctors think that it's stage 2 but they can't be certain until we get the MRI and CT scan results.

My MRI is this Thursday and my CT scan is on Saturday, i'm really scared that they'll say it's spread. I keep envisioning that I only have a few months left to live, even though my family are trying their best to reassure me that i'll be ok.

  • Stage 2 is early stage so that's good. Good luck with MRI and scan. It happens all really quickly and have faith that the nurses and your team will do the best for you

  • I've got my MRI today and my CT scan on Saturday.

I'm really worried that they'll find something on the scans and change the disgnosis from stage 2 to stage 4.

I've already convinced myself that I only have a few years to live...i've barely been getting any sleep.

  • Dear Livi. You will do yourself no good fretting, be optimistic, tell Yourself You can beat anything. I have survived breast cancer 22 years now, my new cancer in lungs is different, so a new fight on hands. But I will fight. And so must You..xxx
