I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with neutropenia. I'm presuming that this is due to some treatment that you've been undergoing recently? 

Has the hospital been able to give you any advice on the best way to manage your symptoms? You may find that they're able to recommend a mouthwash or medication to help with the soreness of your gums. You might also find that switching to a soft baby's toothbrush is gentler and kinder to your gums whilst they're so tender.
