  • How are you feeling Brigitta? I hope the operation went well xx

  • Hello, it went well . Thank you. Im at home , feeling ok. Some of the antibiotics makes me drowsy Or Maybe the co-codamol. I'm quite happy w the result. Bit anxious about the biopsy results coming back in 2-3 weeks. But other than that doing ok , thanks for reaching out :)

  • That's great to hear! Hard part over.  Yes I didn't like some of meds too. Good to do the excercises too for your arm and shoulder as that really helps get your strength back. Hope you are managing drains ok, as this is another thing that is so nb for recovery and preventing infection.

Try not to think about results too much I know how hard that is though, it's true the wait is long but you are grade 1 so that's in your favour. I found it better to keep myself busy reading watching TV and if I got anxious to talk it through with your family or whoever is closest to you. Try stay off the research forums as they ended on stressing me out way more.

Keep the faith and rest up!

  • Thank you! The district nurse visits on daily basis to empty the drain. Keeping the faith : )

  • Hello Sarah

hope you're ok. Got the post op biopsy results back, lymph nodes and margins were clear so good news. They sent a sample for oncotype, I wasn't thrilled about that.. I won't need radiotherapy.. not sure what score will I get from oncotype.
I was gonna ask , if you don't mind. Do  you need to take tamoxifen? I will need to. Side effects sound bad.. Hair thinning scares me.. do you have any info about this, I'm sorry not sure if you're  on this treatment or not. Trying to have a better understanding , what can I expect.

    thank you

  • That's great news! Best for oncotype.

How much are they measuring because when they sent mine off turns out there wasn't enough for it to count.

re Tamoxifen I was on a brand called Mylan which my oncologist recommended. There were no side-effects really. Headache first week but that was my body getting used to it.

I think the best thing to do is don't go looking for side-effects and you will be grand!

  • Hello

Thank you for letting me know. I ve got the oncotype results back , I don't need chemo . Thanks God! This was the worst waiting for this oncotype test . I will ask about the manufacturer of tamoxifen . Thanks for the tip! Xx

  • That's fantastic news!! Delighted for you. Yes I found the wait for this the most stressful! Best with Tamoxifen honestly very few side effects and give whichever one you for about 8 weeks and if it doesn't suit you change to another brand. Xx
