Change in BC treatment plan. Has anyone else had this happen

Hi I posted recently about my new BC diagnosis in September. I have grade 3 IDC with clear lymph nodes so was hopefully expecting surgery which I've had followed by radiotherapy and hormone therapy as it was initially ER pos and HER neg however after a recent appointment it appears that I have some HER negative cells and some vascular invasion.

I am now having chemotherapy starting the week after next and am totally dreading it.

Are there ladies that have experienced this?

    Well I had my appointment and I am still going to wait as unbeleivably Fed Ex lost my tissue sample and it never got to America so another has to be sent.At least another two weeks.

    Oncologist said this has never happened before in ten years of him ordering the test-typical.

    I will have radiotherapy first for three weeks whilst waiting then chemo will come after if needed.Also gave me Tamoxifen to start tomorrow.

    Oh god Minty that's aweful for you, can't believe it. At least they are going to start treatment while they wait. I was concerned how it was growing while I was awaiting treatment. 
    you will get sorted soon lovely. 
     

    I got my chemo appointment today 14 th January, go for a Picc inserted on Monday 12 th. It's getting very real now. Thinking positive, or at least trying .

    Yes at least I will be having some treatment while I wait.

    I think Picc is a good idea -thats what I will do if needed.When I had the MRI dye thing they took loads of goes to get the cannula in.I hope you stay well up to next week x

    When does your radiotherapy start hun? 
    yes Picc s are much better, only the one insertion. I do hope you get yr oncotype result soon and don't need chemo!

    Hi Kierra

    How are you doing ?

    I have decided not to get the Onco test re done and just go for chemo.Not sure the oncologist agrees but I'm the one who has to live (hopefully !) with my decision.

    I might be going to the chemo clinic on Thursday , depends if its cancelled because of Covid apparently.

    Have you had a planning appointment or just got picc and blood test today ?

    Hi Minty hope your doing ok!

     I'm not too bad, had my Picc put in yesterday and have to go for pre chemo bloods, Picc dressing change and covid screen tomorrow ready for Friday my first chemo. Not looking forward to it I have to say. Thank you for asking.

     

    Will they give you chemo without another oncotype? Yes yr so right though it's yr decision if they agree to it.

    oh god I'd hate it if they cancel mine, I've been so anxious just need to get it done. 
     

    I saw the consultant about 2 week ago who layer the full plan out, this was helpful I have to say. 
    I have had appointments almost every other day but am nearly there.
    I hope it gets sorted for you lovely please let me know how you get on
