Please help so scared.

Hi everyone

my mum had to have an endoscopy yesterday after she went to her gp with some difficulty swallowing they referred her to hospital. Endoscopy showed a tumour. Doctor has took biopsies but he said it's more than likely cancerous. We asked is there a chance it isn't and he said it's 50/50 but he thinks it is he said he sees it all the time we are absolutely petrified we lost our dad suddenly at just 47 years old on Boxing Day 2020 we've just had his 1 year anniversary now this has been thrown at us. It's like a nightmare I feel numb

  • Hi

I'm so sorry to hear your news. Especially on the back of your dad! The thing to remember is they have found it now and your mum will be looked after. There is lots of waiting around for diagnosis and treatment plans but it does happen pretty quickly. Once they have a definite diagnosis they will put a plan in place and you may feel slightly better knowing that something can be done. I was diagnosed with breast cancer out of the blue and have started treatment, I have a daughter abs a son who are 25 and they have been really worried about me and there's nothing you can do other than offer a supporting ear abs help out where you can.

I am sorry you are going through this and hope for the best possible outcome for you and your mum

    xx
