I'm going through the same on the 15th of jan I also have an invasive lump. I have opted for DIEP is I was told if radiation was needed the implant would need to be taken out there for another operation. I find it all very daunting also. I hope the mange to get enough. I'm 44 and a size 10.

Hi had my mastectomy just short of 2 years am a large busted lady and unfortunately can't have either of these types of reconstruction surgery due to heavily scarred stomach had kidney removed due to kidney cancer. Have been advised by plastic surgeon the only way forward for me is to have an expander fitted and other breast dramatically reduced in size to equal them up. Has anyone else had this option.

Hi I did have flap surgery but if it helps I went from a size E cup to approx a C as yet to be measured night even be a b! I they reduced my good breast at the same time as the mastectomy and flap surgery. I was unsure how I would feel with smaller breast but honestly they are much better. The plastic surgeons do a great job and are pretty even and when dressed look great. They always got in the way before! Now all is good. I hope that helps in terms of size change for you and maybe someone will have had a similar surgery to your planned or. Hope all goes well .
