Hi,
I'm due to have a lumpectomy with LDF reconstruction on 6th January. I've been looking at post surgery bras but there's so many I haven't got a clue which ones to buy! Can anyone recommend a good one to purchase.
Thanks
Kaye xx

Hi Lovely,
Thanks so much, I'll have a look at M&S. It's these kind of things that no one tells you about so this forum is amazing.

Yes Marks and Spensors do a Post Surgery Support bra, it has a front fastening Zip, the sides are high aswel which is good if you also have a Node biopsy because it protects your Under arm incision aswel.
Good luck you will be fine xx
M&S post surgery are fine they are soft and have wider sides after lots of surgery including a reduction to remove all my milk ducts that removed half of my breast tissue, l find them comfortable and they give you some shape. The vat is also exempt so they are cheaper than the prices shown. Another comfortable bra is a not to strong exercise support bra they are elastic rather than under wired
l hope your surgery goes well

Hi Kaye,
I think always that different bras fit differently on us all. When I was looking, I booked the post surgery bra fitting service at M&S. It turned out that for me after trying on many, none of the specific post surgery bras fitted. I was due for a masectomy and reconstruction though (now completed) and so the lady suggested the M&S flexifit range to me and they were perfect abs I've managed even post op with my usual size (not always the case though).
If you feel safe going to a store, it's worth the fitting service. If not, just order a selection and send back what doesn't fit. M&S were great for me though.
All the best - Mickey xx ️
Hi,
Thanks so much ladies really appriecate your recommendations. I'm going to pop to M&S today and have a fitting I think before I have to isolate. I'm really nervous about what's to come but just want this part to be over now. We're forever waiting aren't we, and for me that's the worst part.
Take care hope you're all recovering well xx
Good luck at M&S today, I had to book my bra fitting in advance so I hope they have a a slot for you.
Yes, the waiting is definitely the worst part. It seems forever and I personally feel so much better now the cancer has been removed.
All the best Mickey xx ️
Morning,
Just wondering how you got on at M&S yesterday?
Mickey xx ️
Hi Mickey,
They had no walk in appointments so I just tried a few on and managed to get a couple I was happy with. All ready to go now only a week of waiting to contend with!
How are you doing? When do you get your results?
Kaye xx
Hi Kaye,
Sounds a success even without the bra fitting service then. Finding a comfortable one is key post op.
6th will soon be here - good luck with it all and keep us posted, always good to hear how you're doing.
Take care Mickey xx ️
