I was diagnosed on the 16th December with breast cancer sorry i cant give you advice i just wanted you to know i feel every emotion you are going through i have a husband of 30 years and two daughters i am trying to keep strong for them i am having bloods done and MRI on Tuesday then results on the 30th Dec for chemo plans i wish you all the luck and love in the world x

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Treatment is great nowadays and you will get throught it.

My husband is just coming to the end of treatment for tonsil cancer. After it being found by his dentist. he had no symptoms. He was diagnosed in Oct. Had a PET scan where they found traces in his voice box too.

He has had once a week chemo to run longside radiotherapy every weekday for 7 weeks. You will get all the support you need at the hospital they is always someone there to help at appointments. If my husband needs anything it is sorted then and there! whether it be meds or support.

(Do ask if they do free parking for appointments)

As your mucus will get thicker and sticky you will need loads need loads of tissues possibly a whole box a day, if not more. I cut down milk bottles to use as spitoons. We have then in the car, bedroom and sitting room.

(I know 3 other people who have had treatment on throat cnacers and they are all fit and well years later.)

Hi Chrissy thanks for your kind words and reassuring its so nice 2 have insight into what happening and that there is light at the end of the tunnel has been a hard few days taking it all in but talking helps so much have a few weeks till i get a diagnosis so fingers crossed will be on the road 2 recovery in the new year

I was diagnosed with Larynx (voicebox) in 2020, mine was stage 4 so when given the options I took the operation as the stage and amount of chemo/RT neede would have damaged too much tissue that if not cured the follow-on operation may have been too difficult

My support would be make sure you ask questions about the treatment options and preferably take someone with you as you may not absorb everything that is said.

My operation was agreat success and I was back at work after 2 months with the great help of MacMillan Speech Therapists who continue to support me with regular valve changes- PS DON'T google !
