Advice for me & a friend? (Breast cancer)

Firstly I wanted to say I can't believe I am back posting on here. I honestly wish I wasn't, but hello anyway lol.

My bestfriends mother went to the breast clinic yesterday regarding a lump.. they found two more one more in the same breast & another under the arm pit. Without saying for definite what it is they ruled all things other than cancer out & said it's not looking very good.  The news has knocked everyone for six especially my best friend. 
Her dad passed away with cancer when she was 15 (we are now 28 & went through school together she's more of a sister) her other family members don't speak or help with anything and there's  nobody to help other than my friend which worries me.

I just really want some advice on what I can do to help my friend? How do you prepare anybody for this for a second time? 
I want to be the best friend I can be I just really need advice on how I can help prepare her for what's to come. 
 

also if anyone else has been to the breast clinic and found more lumps, what the outcome was?

    I'm so sorry to hear that your friend's Mum is facing a possible diagnosis of breast cancer. Understandably it's a difficult time for them both right now.

    I'm sure that your friend will appreciate any support that you can give her. Having a safe space in which she can talk to someone that she trusts and who won't pass judgement will be invaluable for her if her Mum is diagnosed with cancer. But also helping her to maintain some normality in her life will help as well as this will give her some escape and release from any stress and worry that she's experiencing. 

    Hopefully, the breast team will be able to give your friend and her Mum some firm answers soon and she won't have to wait too long to find out what the next steps will be.
