Invasive ductile breast cancer diagnosis

Just got back from results appointment and I have been diagnosed with invasive ductile breast cancer. Grade 2 T1 and PR 3 ER 0 HER 2 0 I think that's right. Everything is a bit of a blur. Got surgery 19th January and then decision if I need chemo or not. Anyone else had this diagnosis? Really appreciate any advice and reassurance and helpful tips on getting through this and coming out the other side.

thanks

  • Hi Sarah,

I had a call yesterday my first Chemo is in the 30th simular time scale to you. I'm more worried about the Pic line to be honest haha.

I haven't got my head around Chemo because of the children, I lost my Dad In September to Cancer and my father in law a year before to Cancer so my eldest son will think I will die if I say Cancer to him.

very tricky but i will think about it after Christmas.

  • Hi snow-drop,

oh gosh what a rough time you've had of it, it is very tricky with the kids, I have 2 one is 15 and the younger one is 11,  they both know what's going on but it's a worry how they will cope once chemo kicks in.  Eldest is in his exam year and youngest getting ready to transition to high school.

I've been off work since 5th nov I work in a school so no go, luckily I've been kept busy with Christmas coming up, also getting a new kitchen put in in the new year! Talk about bad timing.

    xx

  • Hi Sarah,

Thank you for explaing what the 1-4 staging means.

I have been told if the second smaller lump is suspicious, then the whole area including the larger lump with some dense mass is 7cm.  Lymph nodes are clear they tell me.

I was given all this info on 1st Dec. I suppose I've got to just sit and wait for second biopsy (4 days). My energy is centered around the Christmas festivities atm, so time to sit and ponder

    Warm regards

  • Hello,

the waiting is so hard, everything takes so long, I hope your results are positive ones and they can  sort quickly for you.

you will feel so much better when you have all the info and there is no Skeletons in the cupboard.

lets us know how you get on , positive thoughts going your way xx
