Recent diagnosis

Hi there, my story is; I 've always been a fairly fit healthy person watching what I eat & drink in fact I basically am tea total!  So you can understand my complete utter shock & horror to be told I have cancer of rectum/ & it's locally spread!
I have only just found out I have cancer after a routine checkup ( 3 weeks ago) I have had CT Scan, MRI & Colonoscopy & have had my consultation to tell me the results which confirm I do have cancer! & I am now in process of having another CTPET Scan in a few days time & to you say I was totally reeling from the shocking diagnosis I am petrified at having this other CT Scan. I understand I have to have this for the oncologist team to give me the correct treatment. I am still waiting for my appointment to actually have that conversation with the oncologist team obviously once they have results from the PET Scan!

Even though I have the  love & support from my beautiful family & friends and I'm trying my best to stay positive & keeping busy I'm still experiencing anxiety & can't switch off I'm waking up in the early hours feeling shear panic. I just feel so alone which I'm sure I'm not, that's why I have joined this group to get support from others who will understand just how I'm feeling right now!

Thank you for taking time to read my story.
