Hello - husband newly diagnosed with testicular cancer

Newbie here, very much in need of support and help please. My husband's ultrasound results show a large tumour on his right testicle. His blood tests were all normal but he will be having the testicle removed next week and the surgeon has warned that it's almost certainly  cancer. I'm still reeling with shock and disbelief and feel that he's been given a death sentence. What do I do now? I'm totally lost and totally distraught

    I wanted to post to welcome you to the forum and hopefully offer some information and support that will help over the coming days. 

    I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis of probable testicular cancer. It's always a shock when you're given that diagnosis. The outlook for testicular cancer is one of the best for all cancers. Nearly all men survive their disease so please try to stay positive. You might find it helpful to have a look at some of the information on our website about testicular cancer. 

    We have a number of gents here on the forum who have been through treatment for this and hopefully some of them will post to share their experiences with you but I'm going to tag in [@Josh_hereforyou]‍ as I know he's recently posted to share with others his experience of diagnosis and treatment 5 years ago. Hopefully, as I've tagged him in he will see this post and reply. 

    I'm also going to suggest that you might want to give our nurses a call next week. I'm sure they will be able to give you some information and advice that will offer you some reassurance. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    My apologies for the slightly delayed response only l have been moving house.

    lLikeLife, as Jenn said l have been through diagnoses and treatment and would be very happy to share my experiences, thoughts and feelings and practical situations throughout either with you or with your husband and to just be there as a sounding board and generally help in any way l can.

    Please feel very welcome to get in touch at any point as l am sure you will both eventually have lots of questions that l might be able to help with along of course with the medical experts.

    l am sorry that you and your husband are in this situation and it may feel like your world is turned upside down but l really think things will be absolutely ok for you both x
