Hi,

im on the list for an LD flap reconstruction but am concerned of shoulder complications or worse still lymphadema (which my mother suffers from).  My full mastectomy & lymph node clearance was in June 2017...in June 2019 I had a expander fitted and six months later exchanged to an implant and a skin sparing mastectomy with implant on the other side. 

the reason for the LD flap is that my expander side is very different to the other side and I'm trying to obtain some Symmetry. Maybe I should just leave well alone and get on with my life although I find it very upsetting but that's life I guess. War wounds etc. I've seen great results though but also sad stories...any feed back would be appreciated.  I'm 51 and this has been going on now for 4 years!!
