  • Sorry to hear about your cancer and operation and treatment. I went through a similar operation 3 years ago, aged 52. I had a difficult period getting used to the idea my body was modified. But once I had accepted that, the  stoma (nicknamed Victoria) had been fantastic. It gives me the liberty to do most things, travel, camp, sports, eat like before. I even tried scuba diving discovery in Rhodes. My intimate life is not affected by Victoria either. I have some clothes I no longer wear, that are tight fitting. I found a book "anti cancer, a new way of life" helped me massively to get over the shock of cancer. I hope this positive experience helps. I will think of you on the day of your operation, and wish you a promo recovery and adaptation to your Stoma.
