Tonsil cancer

Hi all

For those who have read my posts you might remember I had my tonsillectomy for tumour and neck disection to remove lymph node back in September and Oct then RT finished in Dec. Just a question. Last 6 weeks I have noticed a sore throat on operation side when swallowing first thing in morning.

Wears off quite quickly. Consultant said to just keep an eye on it. Hasn't gone after 6 weeks but not getting worse. Anybody else experienced this?

Hello Sharon,
Given it hasn't gone after 6 weeks, it might be a good idea to get in touch with your consultant again and to say that it hasn't gone and that you still have this sore throat on the operation side when swallowing first thing in the morning.
I hope that this will improve soon and that you will hear from some of our other members who have experienced something like this before after a tonsillectomy.
