Letrazole

Hi

i was wondering what other people's experience of Letrazole had been like

I have been taking this for 6 months after having a lumpectomy in August followed by just 5 sessions of radiotherapy

the first few weeks I felt heavy and achy but then that definitely seemed to improve but then the last few weeks I have felt like I am dragging my body around

Anyone else experienced this?

  • Will be interested to hear replies. Due to Covid had to have my lumpectomy at a smaller hospital with no lab so have had re-excision and also infection. Was due to start Letrazole ...l know I need to take it but have been putting off committing .Surgeon initially wanted to give me Tamoxifen but I’m 68 and have high cholesterol and family history of strokes so not for me .

Hope you feel much better soon but it is a huge life changer

  • Hi

Thank you so much for replying and also for sharing your exoerience

I am sorry that you had some complications with your operation but hopefully all will be good now

i am surprised that you would have tamoxifen if you are post menopausal (68?) normally letrazole or arinidex

I hope you find a treatment that suits you and thank you for your kind words

  • Hi,

'Dragging my body around'!! lol that made me smile.....I know that feeling too...

I started taking Letrozole in September...With Zolodex implants until I have ovaries removed. I'm 49.

The first couple of months were awful...lots of aches (knees and ankles mostly) plus swollen ankles and face and fingers.  Thankfully all the swelling has gone and the aches are only there mildly...Like alot more bearable.  Just started with eye problems now which might be linked to this pesky tablet.

I hadn't realised the link to cholesterol...I'll have to look into that.

    Take care x

  • Thank you for responding to my message

I am glad that you have settled down and I wish you all the very best for your future health and happiness

I used to work for AstraZeneca and know what a great drug Zoladex is

    All best wishes
