Hello brianjoesandy,
Oh no I am sorry to hear your wife's vaccination has been cancelled. It might be worth having a talk with her doctor if you haven't done so already just so that they can explain to you in detail what has happened and what it means for your wife in the coming months, whether she will have to take extra precautions. I would definitely double check with the doctor that she definitely can't have the vaccine and what the best course of action would be then in that case.
Best wishes,

You must check this with your GP, but I've read that it's the MRNA Covid vaccines that might cause a reaction if you have an allergy to polyethelene glycol (PEG) or polyoxyl 35 castor oil (eg, paclitaxel). Pfizer BioNtec and the Moderna vaccines are the MRNA type and do contain PEG.
Astra Zeneca is a different type and so is Sinovac, Sputnik and Johnson & Johnson (when it becomes available), so one of those may be a possibility for your wife. Astra Zeneca does not contain PEG.
Ask your GP. Best wishes to you both.

"The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine contains polyethylene glycol (PEG) which is in a group of known allergens commonly found in medicines. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine does not contain PEG, so those with allergies to this ingredient can receive the alternative vaccine."
