Worried about a swelling

Hi there,

I was diagnosed in 2017 with bc i had chemo, lupectomy, fuul clearance of lyphnode, radio, and immuno therapy, all finished in november 2018, i have a swelling at the base of my neck for about a year, it was on and off now is more on then off, spoken to the doctor, had an ultrasound, and a ct scan didnt show anything, I was told that we do get fat as we age. I can not hep it but im verry worried fat dousnt get in one side, the same side as the operation, it is also painfull sometime like a shooting pain, i need help please, could it be lymphedema, I can not go back to my doctor, she will undermine me again.

    I am so sorry you had this negative experience with your doctor and that you felt undermined. I can understand why you would want some answers and I definitely think it would be a good idea to have this looked into. I think the best thing to do would be to try and see another doctor to get a second opinion. We have information on our website on how to do this on this page . You could then ask whether they think it might be lymphoedema and mention that it feels really painful like a shooting pain. I hope that you manage to speak to someone soon about this and that you get some definite answers.
