Huge health anxiety after bladder C Diagnosis

Hello everyone.

I had a single superficial 1cm tumour removed from my bladder 2 months ago that came back as cancer. This shook me up alot as I'm 29 yrs old, don't smoke, only socially drink, work outdoors and am quite healthy. Since having the Op my health anxiety has spiked massively!!

I am not so worried about my bladder C reoccurring as I am a check up plan and it'll be caught of it does return. My issue is since the tumour was found I have had horrible bowel movements, going from runny, soft stools to pathetic ribbon like stools. Its been on going for 3 months now and it's frustrating as now I think I have bowel or pancreatic cancer! I don't have any other symptoms, there is no blood at all and no pains bar a dull ache around my belly in the first 6 weeks.

I've had a fit test and bloods done and all came back OK, and they think it's IBS. But it's been constant.

I go in cycles, believeing it's IBS and stress then back to it being cancer every where!

I have 2 young kids and it's scaring the hell out of me. It's taking over some days and giving me major mood swings!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum JamesSa although I'm sorry your health anxiety has increased since you had the op to remove the cancerous tumour from your bladder.

I think many of our members who have come through their cancer journeys will completely understand what you're dealing with at the moment and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

If you haven't spoken about your health anxiety with your doctor, do think about doing so as they'll be able to help. You may find the information and support offered by the charity Anxiety UK quite useful as well.

    Kind regards,
