Struggling to sleep

Afternoon, My husband was diagnosed with Pleural Mesothelioma at the beginning of September, achieved to wait till last Friday (13th) to have his first chemo session which went well. He's struggled with some side effects but nothing he can't handle. The one thing my husband is struggling with is sleeping, he goes to bed and might go to sleep but an hour later he's wide awake and the struggles to go off again, this is making him very depressed, does anyone have any ideas. He's even thought about trying nightol but we are worried if this might cause problems. All advice gratefully received

  • Hi there,

I'm sorry to read what your husband is going through and the difficulties he's having with this. If you're worried about any conflict with existing treatment, then the best thing would be to have a chat to his doctor/specialist if you can.

It may help to talk things through with one of our nurses - if so, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you al the best,

    Ben
