Ileostomy reversal

Hi. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in Dec 2017. In Jan 2018 had half my rectum removed and a foot of colon and an ileostomy. The cancer returned 6 months later. I then had chemo and radiotherapy. In April 2019 I had a full exteneration (not bladder) creating a colostomy stoma. 3 months ago I had my ileostomy reversal and now I have acute abdominal pain most of the time, constipation and bouts of sickness. My surgeon has put me on a soft diet for a month. If this doesn't get my swelling back to normal I have to have more open surgery. Anyone have any experience with this or food ideas please? Thanks.
