Hi 

I am suffering with ongoing anal pain. It comes in spasms and can last for hours until I take painkillers. I've had this for more than six weeks. It's like a sharp shooting pain I used to get sparodically that didn't last long, but now seems more persistent. Pain comes at different times of the day, so much worse of a night, wakes me up.  I did have a small bleed after going the toilet, which I thinked started it all off. My GP, gave me treatment for an anal fissure. I had hemorroids before, so was not worried and thought they would just heal. I have never suffered pain for this long before. The pain has gotten so bad I can't sit down or drive my car and feeling stressed, because I teach and looking at going back to work next week.  I'm feeling utterly miserable, hiding my pain from my family. I had Tonsil cancer five years ago, had it removed by laser, neck dissection and 30 radiotherapy sessions. I feel because the pain has not gone away my anxiety level is getting worse and I'm thinking  all sorts of things now. My GP doesn't know what to do so  I am thinking about to asking her to do a refferal to a specialist because of the pain I'm in.  If someone is suffering in they same way or had something similar,  can you please contact me.
