When will I feel well again

number six chemo was about two months ago and after a PET scan I was told I was in remission thankfully. This is the third time I have needed chemo. When will I feel normal again. I am constantly tired - my legs are painful - but my appetite is back to normal and I am slowly gaining weight. Obviously I am on various medication prescribed by my oncologist but would appreciate some advice!

  • Hello JayJay100

I'm so sorry to hear that you're still struggling with some residual side effects from your treatment. It's great to hear that your PET scan showed you are in remission as I know a few months back you were concerned about how successful the treatment may be.

From the posts that I've read here, I think that it can be harder to bounce back from treatment the older we get and the more treatment that's needed. I know that we're not always the most patient of creatures when it comes to recovering from surgeries, chemo or other treatment. Two months is still quite early days after everything that you've been through.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to ring our team of nurses for a chat. I'm sure that they will be able to offer some advice and support. If you'd like to speak to them, they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you start to feel better soon Jayjay100. Be kind to yourself.

    Best wishes,
