Tongue cancer 2nd time

I have had tongue cancer 4 years ago had laser surgery and neck dissection then had radiotherapy and chemo

then 3 weeks ago had laser surgery to remove another Tumor on tongue just above the last one this time when they did the laser surgery I had to have it stitched talking is ok not the same and the side of tongue is numb, but I’m having abit of pain when talking and burning sensation on side of tongue and tip of tongue I’m just wondering if anyone had experienced this and will it go away I know I’m only 3 weeks since I had surgery but it’s quite uncomfortable just hoping it will go away,

  • Hi tudorblue,

I'm sorry to read that you've been through this again - I hope you're getting on OK although it sounds like you're experiencing dificulties at the moment. I do hope this improves soon for you although unfortunately I'm not able to advise on when this may happen. The best thing will be to discuss with your doctor or specialist if you can - they are best placed to advise.

In the meantime if anyone here has any similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
