Still feeling tired

I had a lumpectomy last May followed by radiotherapy which finished in August. I was fine during the treatment but have suffered with tiredness/ fatigue since then. I have had my vitamin levels checked and B12 and Vit D were low. Have been on B12 and Vit D tablets for 4 weeks now levels are increasing but I don't feel any better. I am eating healthy and exercising; any advise? Thanks

  • Hello Talkybop

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with tiredness and fatigue. If you've been given supplements to take it may be that they will take some time for things to get back within normal range and for you to start to feel the benefits. If you're still struggling it's certainly worth speaking to your GP to see if there is are any other underlying causes for how you're feeling.

I do hope that things improve for you soon.

  • Hi

Fatigue is awful, i suffered for over year with it, but i had 3 surgeries & chemo, so every case is different, one thing i learned, is there isnt anything more you can do than you have done already, but accept you are unable to do all the running around you use to do, so plan just to do one thing a day for eg. it does come back to normal, it just takes time, but you also need to rest when you recognise the signs too - i ignored them, then ended up in bed for 4 days - so if you know you have an event on a weekend, make sure you are resting the day before & after - but there is hope, all of a sudden you will start to do more

    take care
