How long might this misery go on?

I had my 12th (& last, even if my life depends on it I shall have no more) treatment 3 weeks ago &have been almost housebound since with awful frequency & pain when passin urine, the nights are dreadful, up almost half hourly. Taking bucketloads of painkillers & a drug ' maribeg' but not much effect. I do wonder how people manage if they're still working.. luckily I am retired & spend much of the day reading & going to the loo. Can anyone give me hope that it will eventually clear up ??

  • I'm sorry to read what you're going through at the moment Rosie. It sounds very frustrating.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will pop by soon to offer their support and advice but if you'd like to talk things through with someone then do give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

It may not seem like it right now, but things will start to improve Rosie.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello & thankyou for your reply. Here I sit like the "couch potato" I have become after another night spent mostly on the loo. I shall look forward to hearing that it definitely will get better as I'm reluctant to even pop to the shops , luckily I have a good husband, but even he must be getting weary of this!
