Post treatment pain

Hi. I finished 6 cycles of chemotherapy for ovarian cancer 4 weeks ago and still feel drained with leg pain and aching joints along with not being able to get warm. Has anybody got an explanation for this or gone through the same or similar? Thanks x

  • Hi there ...

I think we all take a lot longer to get back to full health then we think ... cancer and treatment takes it's toll on our bodies ... lots have no energy and pain in joints for quite a while, it's normal ... try to listen to your body .. it will let you know when it needs rest ... if you rest as much as possible and slowly build up your health ... it will be much better for you ..

I'm nearly two years post op, and still get times I need to stop ... but I'm 64 with other health issues ... but your body will tell you ... hope that helps ... Chrissie  ; ))

  • Thanks Chrissie,

I thought I was doing well and probably over did it, just eager to get on with life I guess. I appreciate your advice and hope you keep well x

  • Hi, I’m 6 weeks post chemo for breast cancer and I still have achy muscle and stiff joints. My legs are the worst especially my thighs, i compare it to the feeling you get a day or so after an aerobics class or been out running. I’ve looked into it at it seems quite normal. Unfortunately it appears it can take months for side effects to ease off.

    take care
