letrozole

Has anyone suffered from fatigue whilst on this medication oris it just me some days i feel completely lacking in energy and can do very little other days i get by also i have gained quite a bit of weight  has anyone else or am i just blaming meds for my own shortcomings

  • Hi kenm5

i have been on letrozole for 9 mths now. Not had either the fatigue or the weight gain. What I have had is some joint pain nd night sweats (they both seem to come and go). It’s prob more a case of how your body deals with the medication. They say the side effects ease over time so fingers crossed this is the case. X

  • Hello, I had joint pain and terrible fatigue on this medication, I read that letrozole increases appetite so between that and not moving about much I put on weight too. I reported this to my consultant and I am now on an alternative medication, and all pain and most of the fatigue is gone. Good luck x

  • Hi buddyanne

just wondering what u were changed to nd was yr joint pain localised or all over. Ta muchly in advance :-) x

  • Hi again, my joint pain was in my elbows and knees mainly, though I just felt bad all over with fatigue. They put me on exmestane and that works for me. The only side effect I've had is constipation which they gave me lactulose to take x

  • Yes! I have gained roughly 30 pounds and, I too, suffer extreme fatigue.

  • Hi it makes me tired to  I've been on them 8 weeks  and now get it out of breath  dont know if thatsnormal

  • Hi

I've been on letrozole for almost 3 years now...I've read some horror stories about side effects and also that some brands are worse than others. I've always been on accord. Think I'm fairly fortunate....i definitely don't have same energy levels and I do get quite tired some days. Have put on a bit of weight and just have to constantly watch what I eat.... carrying about 8 to 10 pounds extra. Achey knees and feet but it's all manageable. I know that's not the case for everyone.

My hair has also thinned a bit on it...which was my biggest fear after it grew back in after chemo. The one side effect which really saddens me is the effect on my libido....now non existent. So seems it affects us all in different ways to different degrees. Got to weigh up the benefits and make your own decision. Keep well ladies.
