Relief?

I am recovering from a mastectomy, and feeling quite sore in my armpit from the removal of lymph nodes, which I understand is to be expected.  I am so lucky that my lymph  nodes are clear and have been told I need no further treatment, and I was feeling  so positive.   But now i just have in the back of my head that they might not have got it all. I know  it's silly,  but is this how others feel instead of being  relieved? I know  5his sounds so ungrateful and am trying to be  positive  as so many others are needing further treatment. Perhaps I need a kick!

  • That's great news Chris but try not to be too hard on yourself for feeling worried.

After going through a potentially life changing experience it's quite natural to feel this way. In fact this reaction to receiving good news is more common than you might think as many of our members know and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

In the meantime just try to take things one step at a time if you can and try not to push yourself to feel something that isn't there at the moment. When you're ready the positivity will come :)

    Kind regards,
