Two years ago,I had breast cancer. But now I'm cancer free.

How ever the Chemotherapy drug, was very strong, and has damaged the nerves,in my feet. Will i ever get the nerves back.

And will I have to give up driving. This is causing me to have anxiety problems.

  • Thank you for your reply.

Has anyone experienced, numb feet after Chemotherapy. As I have never heard of this.

Thanks to anyone that reads this.

    Sue.

  • I finished chemo for Osophageal Cancer in December. I have nerve damage in my feet , hands and left thigh. I have been told that sometimes the damage repairs itself, but not always. I'm not sure whether you will have to give up driving, I suppose it depends on the extent of the damage. You should contact your GP about driving .

  • Hi Sue,

not sure how long it is since you finished your chemo. I had nerve damage in my fingers and toes. About a year after I finished my chemo my fingers were back to normal, although I do find if I have been gardening and got my hands in a bag of compost and it's cold my fingers tingle till I get them warm again. My nerve damage in my feet was on the ball of my feet, I still have a little bit of damage, but it is getting better. I didn't experience it like you by the sound of things.

i do hope it improves for you over time for you, and your anxiety improves.

  • Thanks hammy, at least I'm not alone, with the side effects. I finished my Chemo nearly 2 yrs ago,but feet have not got any better, and are always cold. Hands ok. Sorry to h are about your hands, but glad your feet are better. Just goes to show people,it's not everyone, that can tolerate, the high dose. Good luck to you for the future. Sue
