Hodgkins Disease

I was in my early twenties when I was first diagnosed.  It was quite a shock to say the least. I had to have an operation and six months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy for four weeks.  I was an outpatient for many years and remain in remission.  I am now nearly sixty.

  • Hello Moonlight,

A big welcome to Cancer Chat. Thank you so much for sharing your story - it will give courage to many who are about to start treatment for Hodgkin's to see that there is someone on this forum who was diagnosed over thirty years ago and has remained in remission.

What you went through in your early twenties must have been difficult to say the least and the treatment must have been pretty gruelling but it looks like it was all worth it as you now approach sixty and seem to be doing well!

We're really pleased to have you on the forum and thanks again for taking the trouble to share your experience with us.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
