Hi !
In Jan 2015 I had open thorax surgery to remove a large tumor in my right lung. As I also had a smaller tumor in my left lung, I received 4 rounds of CHOEP chemotherapy but unfortunately with no effect so in May 2015 I had a VATS lobectomy of my upper left lobe.
I got back to work in August last year and by December I was back on full time. I am used to bike back and forth to work every day, but during the entire 2015 my main mode of transportation was my car. I have exercised as much as I felt comfortable with between my surgeries, during my chemo and after my last surgery as well, by taking daily long walks. I am no longer able to ride my city bike, so I caved a month ago and purchased an e-bike and for the last month I have been taking my bike to and from work- it sure feels good!
What really annoys me, is that my respiration has not improved at all. Whenever I climb the stairs, walk around and talk, try to tie my shoes, any activity at all I sound like someone who has run a marathon. I have therfore been thinking if perhaps pilates or yoga could be helpful for my respiration- does anyone out there have any experience with this? I am not sure I will be able to do all the exercises due to my breathing, but it probably doesn´t hurt to give it a try. I was just curious if others have given this a shot....
