Anastrazole anyone ?

I've been taking the above now for about 3 1/2 years and am finding the side effects quite hard to deal with. My bones and joints in particular. Any tips or similar experiences ?

  • Hi Marion, I take letrozol and think the side effects are pretty much the same, afraid there is no easy answer, but I did get a decent circulation booster and use it every evening for 20 minutes, seems to have got rid of most of the "aches"

The Doc gave me vit D for my bones and also statins for my higher than normal cholesterol -Oh the joy of the side effects, but for me only one more year on the letrozol and I am keeping my fingers crossed that some of the side effects will stop

    Take care

  • I take Letrazole (don't think there is much difference between the two).  Been taking it for only 5 months and my main problem is the weight gain, although I do have bone aches and pains.  I am takung it for endometrial/pelvic problems.  Having mixed results.  Hope you get an answer to your pains.

  • Thanks for the reply. I've gained weight too, which of course I'm not happy with to say the least ! In my sensible times I think " Oh well, I'm not to bad and..........at least I'm still here !

  • Since I have been taking Letrozole my main tumour has shrunk by 3/4 and two enlarge lymph nodes have gone so I suppose this is a bit of compensation for looking like Miss Roly Poly 2015.

Have your bone scans shown anything?  As you say we are still here!  :-)

  • Yes had the bone scans and I have the beginning of Osteoporosis. Taking supplements for that.

I have this little patch of white come up on my eye lid, apparently that's something to do with cholesterol too.

Sounds like they are well sorth taking though even with all these side effects Pauline !
