Hormone Therapy

I started hormone therepy about a week ago. I woke up so tired and dizzy. Is this a common side affect of hormone therapy?

Hi Maureen ........  I was on Tamoxifen for BC - is that what you mean?  The nurses here are available during weekdays and you can telephone them on the freephone number shown on this page for help and advice.  They are very helpful and a great source of information!  x

  • Hi Maureen,

I thought you might enjoy a laugh at my expense. Several years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and ended up having hormone therapy for two years. Much to my dear wife amusement I ended up having HOT FLUSHES. I could be sitting still doing nothing much when without any warning at all, they would pounce on me and it was just like someone had thrown a cup of hot water over me. I still get them but mainly at night now and gradually getting less and less. If I had a pound coin for every time I have heard my wife say "Now you know what we women have to put up with", I would be quite a rich man.

I must admit I nave suffered from tiredness or dizzynes so it might be worth phoning your GP

    Take care, best wishes, Brain
