Hi all my forum buddies. Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began. Hope to see you here. Jules
Good morning Brian,
Well, a lot cooler today but very very wet so my walk will be a short one!!
Must be very satisfying to have finished some more stories and see the end in sight for your various plots. No doubt it will not be too long before more ideas come along to keep the storytelling bug going.
Seeing that it is a two day show for you this weekend, I hope it is indoors as looks like the weather is not going to be on your side...........wellies at the ready if you are outside. Great to read more new members gained and one hoping to exhibit too. Wishing you all a happy time.
I do not mind the heat but use common sense and stay out of the direct sun whenever possible and am not one of the sunbathing gurus ha ha. The humidity is more of a challenge but with the hottest days this week being work days for me was very glad of the air conditioning in the shop. No complaints from Mum (about anything to be fair) but in her room there are two giant floor fans and extra liquids being offered. She is still baffling the medical team as to how how body is hanging on despite life's ravages. Thankfully she still appears to be coping with pain relief provided by the patch and liquid medicine when top up required and is managing her breakfasts (loves her porridge) and top up shakes.
I had a lovely day out yesterday with a friend. We went to the Tower of London and dodged the showers with a good look round (she had never been and the last time I was there was on a primary school visit many moons ago!!) for nearly 5 hrs. We followed this up with Afternoon Tea overlooking St Katherines Dock where the sun came out.......view below from our outside table (using my Christmas 2018 gift voucher up). Now need to get busy planning our next day out (probably after her daughter's wedding at the end of next month) though probably a few coffee catch ups along the way.
No plans this weekend and probably just as well given the forecast.
Thankfully no scam calls for me for some time now. I have an answephone on the landline and never answer it directly, always waiting to see who it is. Last time it was a scam I reported it to BT phishing site and they set up a 'block' which certainly appears to have helped. I also do this with online spam...always reported and the in box feels the benefit ha ha.
Have a good weekend and best wishes to you both and the family. Jules

Hi Brian and all my forum buddies,
I just needed to drop a line here to say that I may be a bit erratic with my visits to the chat forum in the coming days. My Mum passed away this morning and whilst this was not exactly a shock I still feel a little lost at the moment and there will be legalities to be processed and well as my own feelings to be worked through. At the wonderful age of 93 my Mum's suffering (physical and mental) has come to a peaceful end and I hope she can truly be resting in peace.
Jules
Jules, I'm so sorry to read this.
Take as much time as you need; we will be here when you need us.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Thank you Steph; the understanding is much appreciated. Jules
Oh Jules,
I am so sorry to hear this. Thanks for letting us know.. You have been such a caring and supportive daughter and she was well looked after. at the home
We will all be thinking of you as you go through this painful time.
I rember the time when my mother passed away how much paperwork and phones calls there were to make. So I have an idea of what you will be going through.
Out thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time, Take care, Brian
Hi Brian,
Thanks for your understanding words. Seems a very strange day today. As you know I always visited Mum on a Tuesday morning and today I will go to collect her personal bits and bobs and the end comes to ths eight year routine. Still awaiting the paperwork from the doctor who visited the Home residents as no arrangements can go ahead until this is received. Mum is in the care of the same firm who looked after my hubby and as she drew up her own funeral plans I am a little 'in the limbo' stage whilst waiting to make necessary appointments. It will be good if the paperwork was awaiting my visit this morning so I can achieve as much as possible before return to work (am on compasionate leave this week and then will get an extra day for the funeral). Plenty of offers of support from close family and friends ifI need it but just now am as usual tending the garden and going walking which I find soothing.
Lots of emotions to deal with, though at the moment I feel very peaceful as Mum has been released from her mental and physical hurt. At 93 she had lived a long and somewhat disturbed life but you only get one Mum and if it were not for her and my late Dad I would not be the person I am today.
Sorry for the rambling but thankful I am still on this forum and have my virtual buddies to listen as and when I choose to clear my head. Off to get another cuppa!
Wishing you and Mrs B a pleasant week. Jules
Hi Jules
You ramble on all you want. You have helped so many on here over the years including me .
Take good care of yourself, Brian.
Thanks Brian.
As you know I am rarely unable to express myself but am currently trying to find the words to honour my Mum when we celebrate her life later this month. All the immediate legal paperwork is in place so I can move forward with official notifications Thankfully we are in a borough that operates the Tell Them Once scheme so just one form to fill out on line with the local authority Registrar notifies most of the different agencies that need to be officially told. I have one appointment to attend on Monday and now I await forms etc that will arrive in the post before I deal with probate application.
Yesterday I decided to have a day at Kew Gardens. It only takes one and a half hours to get there and I remember going several times as a child with my parents (one cost a 1d then!!) which must be where my love of walking first began (followed quickly with regular trips to Kenwood/Hampstead Heath every Sunday which was our back garden not having one of our own). I recently became a Member of Kew as go fairly regularly and in the Summer months this affords you the privilege to be there two hours before the general ticket holders. I cannot tell you have peaceful this was and for nearly two hours I enjoyed the peace and tranquility this afforded to me. In all was there over 7 hrs and strolled over 7 miles as well as sitting to just enjoy the views around me. At the moment they are running the CHUHILY glass sculptor's exhibition both around the grounds and in the gallery. Amazing.
I hope you,Mrs B and the family are doing okay and that the good weather of the past few days may mean you are enjoying the garden. Take care. Jules
HI Juley
last Saturday i fell over and have badly sprained my left arm. then on Thursday had to take Mrs B TO hospital where she was told they have found a very small lump which when tested tirns out to be cancer. She allready has a date to see a surgeon They will remove it during day surgery and then she may have to have radio therapy. . She took it remarkably well but is now wanting to get it over and done with as sson as possible.
Glad things are prigressing with papperwork etc and glad you enjoyed your time at Kew. Where we hold our exhibitions is a branch of kew garden
THinking of you and sending best wishes, Brian
My thoughts are with you both Brian. Not the best of weeks for you both. Bad sprains are so painful so hope the painkillers are helping until such time as it feels better. It hinders everything too. Give Mrs B a virtual hug from me and really hope she gets the surgery and treatment underway as soon as is possible. Hear to listen any time my virtual buddy. Best regards Jules
