Hi Jules.
Glad you had a good weekend. Its funny how little ones have a way of lifting our spirits and always seem to make us feel good. I always feel the young children have a differnt way of looking at life. Trouble is, they grow up all to quickly Jules so enjoy them while you can. Cant believe how quickly my three have grown up.
I will be thinking of you on Tuesday. Anniversarys like this seem to come round all to quickly.
I didnt get anywhere with my three stories but have plenty more to try. Nearly have another one finished.
Managed to clean my car the other day as it really needed it. Took Mrs B for a ride through the country lanes before doing it and some of the roadside banks were covered in primroses. But nearly all in places where I couldnt stop to take any photos so I cant show them to you unfortunetly. The lanes were only just wide enough for my little car and even then we had to breath in deeply in some places ha ha.
Mrs B washed my jacked and left our small mobile phone in the pocket. Hope it will dry out okay.
Its nice and sunny here this morning so will try and mow the lawns again later
I hope you have a resonable week. Sending kind thought to you and you family, Brian
Hi Brian,
Following a lovely weekend I woke on Monday to a painful and puffy eye. Infection daignosed and now on drops so hopefully will clear in time for my son in laws 40th or I will have to go as a pirate!!
A shame that your first submissions were rejected but keep on doing what you enjoy and that day in print may be yours.
As I need to keep my hands busy (and away from my face ha ha) I donned my gardening gloves yesterday and spent several hours in the garden in the beautiful sunshine. Great satisfaction now that lawn is mowed, edges trimmed and flower borders weeded. Have this morning refilled all the bird feeders as forecast says colder and rain due.
Hubby would have been 68 today so a day of past memories to recall as we remember him with love in our hearts.
Regards to you, Mrs B and the family and hope you are enjoying catching up with the grandchildren especially as your granddaughter is home from university. You are so right that we have to make the most of these family times. Best regards. Jules
Hi Jules.
Hope your eye quickly heals up as it sounds quite painful. Must make it awkward to see or watch anything. I like your humore about the pirate
I have allready got 80% of next months newsletter done for our woodclub. I only have one page to do and cant do that until we have had out next meeting. I hope to enroll two new members next Wednesday so membership is still on the increase. Using my laptop I have worked ou a page of twelve cards I can print out to give to potetial new members. I will have to print some out for next week so I can give some to other committee members.
Mrs B had to have a blood prssure unit strapped to her for 24 hours so she didnt sleep much last night. It went of every thirty minutes during the day and once an hour duringthe night. My youngest grandson has been off school for over a week now with a viral infection. It must be quite bad as he just lays in his bed most of the day which is so unusual for him as he is so active normally.
My radishs are now about an inch high so will be a long time yet before I shall be picking them. I cleaned all our windows the other day but the rain we have had must be very dirty as our windows need cleaning again.
Just found out we have a huge Rhododendron not that far from us. Its about 50 fott wide by 30 foot tall. Apparently honey made from the pollen from Rhododendrns can be halucinegetic and quite toxic.
Hope you dont have to go in fancey dress orsail to your son in laws in your pirate boat.
Take care, Brian
Hi Brian
Eye infection was very painful and the lid swollen but thankfully is a lot better now and will be able to return to work tomorrow. Still doing the steam baths but at least it no longer feels like I have a lump of concrete hiding in there! Thankfully did not need to wear a patch for my son in law's 40th birthday bash and we all enjoyed a lovely weekend together.
Hope your youngest grandson's infection is now clearing up. It is horrid to see them out of sorts. I remember well the annoyance of having the blood pressure monitor but hopefully it works well and gives readouts that will help Mrs B in the longer term.
Hope tomorrow's wood club meeting sees the new recruits signed up. New blood always welcome to keep such activities ongoing and old and new members sharing ideas/challenges. The newsletter will bring everyone up to speed too and bet all your hard work is appreciated by everyone.
I have not long returned from visiting Mum (not change) and a reminder to pay the balance of my summer holiday so once my e-mails dealt with will sort this out too. I must say it will be nice to get some warm sunshine and walks in a different location though a little apprehensive as flying into an area I do not know (another tick in my ongoing box haha).
Hope you have a pleasant week and best regards to you and the family. Jules
Hi Jules,
Glad your eye infections is better now and hope it wont be long before its back to normal. Glad you didnt have to go dressed as a pirate after all ha ha.
Wood club meeting went very well and as subs were due starting last month, took lots of money which was handed to our treasurer. I was kept busy all evening. Next months newsletter is almost done. Just have to add a few photos of members work and the chairmans letter. One of our members kindly takes photos of the work our members bring in each month. Also found some good jokes to add to the news letters and I have found two lots of information I can use for the feature artical I do each month for the next two newsletters. Am also sending out info to our members about our first two shows probably tommorow. I want to get as many exhibiters as possible. In the past members were told if they couldnt do the two or three days, they couldny have a stand but now I am organising it if they can only do one or two days we can cope with that. Just needs a little more work to organize. I look on these shows as a showcase for our club and our members work. It often encourages new members to join up so I want to be as flexible as possible and show as wide a range of work as possible.
Grandson is much improved thank you. He is back to winding my son up again. Nothing much different there ha ha. He is so quick witted and comes back with comical replies quicker than any of the family.
Hope you are able to go for your walks again allthough it has turned very cold the last couple of days. Sending kind thoughts to you and your family, Brian
Good morning Brian,
Catching up whilst waiting for the gym to open and then off out for the morning in the bright but frosty start. Thankfully once the pain in my eye was under control I was able to get out and about again and enjoyed the weekend with the family. Have my daughter and the two children coming to stay on Monday so will be a busy few days (on holiday from my work place too) and weather permitting will be out enjoying ourselves. They will also have a day catching up with old friends from before they moved which will give me time to pop and see Mum as usual.
So pleased for you that all is going wel with the wood club. You certainly put plenty of effort it to keep it going along with old and new members to keep watch over. I am sure you are rewarded by the feedback and little changes here and there can help everyone.
Good news too that your 'cheeky grandson' is much improved and back on form. Always worrying when they are poorly. I am sure some of his sense of humour is in the genes.....just saying ha ha!!
Best regards to you and the family. Jules
Hi Jules,
Hope you are enjoying your days off with your family.
I have been phoning our exhibitors about our three exhibitions I am organising for this year. We normally set up on a Friday night and I have asked them if they feel it is nessecary as on the Saturday we get there at eight and the place doesnt open to the public until ten o-clock. So it still gives us two hours to set up and we dont get many people arriving until 10.15. Some of our exhibitors have quite a journey so it should be easier for them. And cheaper too
I am looking at publishing some of my stories on Kindle. They have made it easier so will try it out in the next few days. Am hoping to get out into the garage in the next few days as I have some turnings I want to do.
Have mowed both lawns today and need to sharpen the blades again. Hope your mum was okay when you visited. Did you raid the cheese shop over the weekend?
Sending best wishes to you and your family, Brian
Hi Brian,
Quick visit to the forum whilst the boys have their breakfast and my daughter has a well earned lie in! Have had a lovely couple of days so far and with the weather improving am sure the next two days will fly by too. However, today I will go and visit Mum and grab a circuit at the gym whilst the family spend time with old friends. They will return in time for tea and then tomorrow we are meeting up with my son an family for a lovely local walk of his as well as a pre-Easter catch up.
Hope the publishing on Kindle works out. Do let me know as I have the Kindle app so maybe could see some of your work too.
I did buy some cheese at the French Market I visited on Saturday. They do 3 for £5 so a nice variety for us all to enjoy this week. As I am following (though not too strictly) my healthy eating plan in readiness for my Summer wardrobe ( ha ha) I have to limit how much of it I eat so a sharing platter is ideal.
Now it is getting warmer I am sure you will manage your garage visits and be happily 'turning' something good ready for the exhibitions ahead.
Have a lovely Easter and perhaps time spent with the youngsters too? Jules
Hi Jules,
Just a quick update.
Took Mrs B for a drive today out in the country. It was really nice.the birds were singing and we saw several pheasants and a couple of young rabbitts. All of these had dissapeared into the hedges by the time I got my camera out. I drove up a very steep hill and parked at the top. Lots of sheep about and found several cowslips. What a view (see photos) Quite windy up there as you can imagine. We both really enjoyed it.
Hope you are still enjoying this week with your family.
Sending best wishes to you and your family, Brian.

Hi Brian,
Lovely pictures and views. Absolutely the right day for such an outing.
I Spent today with both children and the grandchildren which included a two miles walk and then a quick sit down with ice creams for those who fancied one. Now back home and looking forward to the Easter weekend weather (once the housework is out of the way ha ha). Happy Easter. Jules[[]]
