Hi all my forum buddies. Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began. Hope to see you here. Jules
Problems with posting before work so am having another go with everything crossed.
Hi Brian
I think those 'funny' moments which happen are funerals are very welcome amongst the sad times and children have no fear in saying what they think - little rascals. Where would we be without them.
I hope your sister finds your Dad comfortable following his fall - no doubt he was still trying to be a bit independant bless him - he is just amazing.
Glad you had your wits about you with regards the Talk Talk scam.I am with them too so keeping a watchful eye and am ready to ward off any unsolicited calls.
Good day with the family at Legoland yesterday and a beautiful autumnal day with no coats required - we are doing so well with the temperatures and once again no heating required for me. Got up this morning to find a fox playing in the rain with one of my grandsons' balls (now punctured ha ha) but, of course, scarpered before I could catch it on camera.
Work was very stressful today but met friends for coffee afterwards which was a help. Am also spending Sat evening/Sun morning with them so am really looking forward to some R&R after my social event on Friday evening. Not sure where I find the time to fit everything in but the company compensates.
All the best to you, Mrs B and the family as always. Jules x
Hi Sue
Legoland was a great fun day out in the Autumnal sunshine and no coats required - just amazing. Only drawback was that Zack's buggy broke on arrival (still under guarantee so will be going back!!) and we had to hire one for the day (he was very happy as this one had a steering wheel!!). Great entertainment at the pirate show in the afternoon before heading home. Lots of traffic so stopped and got sandwiches for the boys tea which they ate en route. They dropped me off at 6.40 and think the boys would have been off to bed almost as soon as they got indoors. Today they were hoping to go to Chessington as it's son in laws last holiday day but hopefully they will find a new buggy too. (they have an annual Merlin pass which makes it very reasonable).
After a wet start to the day it is bright sunshine here again and the wild birds are making the most of the feeders. Am hoping for a relaxing evening as works is incredibly stressful/busy and will be glad to see the back of this week (though hate wishing the days away!!). Having a social event(Bodyshop at Home) for my daughter on Friday evening and then visiting friends overnight Sat/Sun so plenty to keep me entertained.
The home had to call the doc out to Mum yesterday (she was refusing to eat and thus very lethargic) and they are now monitoring her even more closely. This is often the way she reacts when I change my visiting day so will ring later and see how she has been today.
So pleased that your efforts at taping are producing positive results and you are managing on a lower dosage of medication. I am sure you are apprehensive about the forthcoming op taking you back a step or two though its good that you have the therapist in place so that you can set up appointments afterwards which may help. Keep up the good work and am thinking of you. Jules x
Hi Jules, glad you had such a fun day out. Shame about the broken buggy but sounds like Zach enjoyed driving the hired one anyway!
Sorry to hear your Mum had a doctors visit and I hope she has recovered a bit now? The change of routine obviously upset her but, hey, you're allowed your fun too..
Another busy but fun weekend lined up for you then, I wish I had half your energy! It will hopefully take your mind off work though so that's always a good thing and I trust you are enjoying your relaxing evening?
Take care Sue xx
Hello Jules,
I hope you don't mind and I am really sorry to interrupt your conversation but I thought you would be interested in knowing about this thread.
When I read shilocruz's story, she really made me think of you and how you were in a very similar situation not so long ago.
If you feel like it, don't hesitate to drop her a line, as I am sure she would really benefit from your advice!
Very best wishes,
Lucie
Hi Lucie,
Thanks for the 'hand's up' and I have now posted on the thread. No problem with you interrupting either; it's always nice to hear from you and hope all is well with you and the family. Take care Jules x
Hi Sue,
Relaxed a little too much in the evening; fell asleep for an hour ha ha. Annoyingly that meant I did not have a very good night - nothing new there though!! Thankfully had some help at work today so a little less stressful.
With the late plans made regarding the weekend I will be kept busy on my day off tomorrow to make sure I am on top of things and need to try and fit in the gym as have missed a couple of visits this week. Currenty light rain here so have put off doing the washing as do not want it hanging around when I have company tomorrow evening (will do it Sat am and leave it to dry indoors whilst away). My daughter is staying overnight tomorrow after 'running' the bodyshop party as a consultant which will give us some time without little ears listening in. Son in law will pick her up on the way to taking eldest grandson to football club the following morning. Keeping busy is helping me cope but I am looking forward to spending time with friends (and away from temptation of the farmers's market this weekend!!).
Hope you have a restful weekend and that the 'yappies'next door keep a low profile or you may have to invest in earplugs as well as rolls of tape. Hope Saturday appointment goes well. Take care Jules x
H Jules, hope the party goes well and that you enjoy your mum & daughter time afterwards. Have a lovely weekend with your friends as well. Take care Sue x
Hi Jules,
It's been quite a week this week and I have had trouble figuring what the day is. I had a long chat with my youngest sister in Canada yesterday evening. I could tell she is very stressed and I had to tell her she has to look after herself. She has recently had other losses on her husbands side. Dad is being cremated on Tuesday and my sister is going to read something I write about dad with a short message to my other brothers and sisters. If she can find the song I wrote about, she will try to include it in the service too with what I wrote about me being so like dad.
Mrs B keeps going low so still having to keep both eyes on her at the moment. I was naughty and bought some chocolate coated macaroons the other day and Mrs B had one when she went low and loved it. Hope everything went well last night and that you enjoy your time with your friends after such a hectic week at work. I bet you are getting all the annuals in now. Our primroses have even more flowers on them which is pleasing Mrs B as they are one of her favorite flowers.
Sorry to read you didnt sleep well the other night Jules. Unusaully for me, I have had the same problem the last few nights. I keep waking up and afterwards have trouble getting back to sleep.
Sending best wishes, hugs and kind thoughts your way both to you and your family, Brian.
Many thanks Jules for helping out and thank you for your lovely words! All is well for me and the family, thank you!
Hope all is well for you and that you had a nice week-end,
Lucie
Hi Sue
Hope your appointment on Saturday went well and that you felt s little more benefit afterwards. No doubt more 'taping' guidance too though an extra pair of hands would probably make it much easier!!
Had a good social evening on Friday and sales went well for my daughter. After the visitors had gone we sat up till gone 1 am chatting. At 9 am my son in law picked her up and I went to the gym before getting a lift to my friends (her daughter and son in law collected me) in Bucks. Great weekend catching up with news, chinese takeaway, too much cake!!!, visit to garden centre in beautiful sunshine - coffee and more cake outside and no coats necessary. Bought them a bush rose called Ruby Anniversary (they celebrate theirs next month) and caught the train home late afternoon yesterday. Back down to earth today being back into work.
Will visit Mum tomorrow and then hope to lunch out after my gym session (I suppose I had best keep it healthy ha ha). Meeting my friend for an evening at the Indian restaurant on Thursday before keeping a denture appointment on Friday. Crumbs!!! another week goes by - all too quick.
Hope all well with you. Take care Jules x
