  • Hello dad1929,

How nice to hear from you again! I remember you very well - you were such help to others on the forum and made some great friends I remember and like you we moderators will never forget people like Tony or Dizzie.

We are so pleased to hear you are now doing well and can't thank you enough for taking the time to come back on the site and update us all. Your story will be a true inspiration to others who have only just been diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's lymphoma like you were yourself four years ago now. Your experience will also be incredibly valuable to others currently embarking on the same journey, and if I see any new members joining feeling the same way you felt four years ago, if you don't mind I will make sure to point them to this thread.

If you have a chance, feel free to upload a new profile picture. As you noticed, our forum has only just had a makeover and the old profile pictures disappeared in the process. It will be good to see what you look like now if you are happy to share it- you can change your profile picture by following the instructions here.

So you mentioned you don't have any grandchildren yet but they might just be around the corner - is being a grandad something you would already be looking forward to already?

It was so nice to see your name pop up today Jeff - welcome back to the forum! It's funny you used the Terminator 'I'll be back' line - I did the same when I went on maternity leave. And now I am back!

  • Hi lucid Thanks for the welcome back and also the kind words, when I first found this site four years ago the first person to reply to me was tony song hurst, and he really made things easier for me with his friendly and helpful attitude, and like many others I took great inspiration from him,and I then others chipped in and soon I was able to help others, I would also tell others about this site as it really can make a difference so thanks to all of you who have made this site possible. Anyway about this photo, I will have to get my kids to help me as I'm not to clever with this sort of of thing although I did upload a picture of our dog when he was just a puppy four years ago but I did have the help of dizzie (god bless her),so for the meantime I will just have appear as a shadow, so thanks for the reply and I will keep in touch. Cyber hugs x Dad1929
  • Hello dad1929,

Thank you for your quick reply! Tony and Dizzie were truly inspiring people. They touched all our hearts, including moderator hearts.

Aren't children amazing with technology? My 5 year old definitely knows far more about these things than I did when I was five. Don't worry about the picture, take your time with it - it's great to have you as a shadow too!

We do look forward to seeing how much your dog has grown in four years. I bet he is no longer a puppy!

  • Hi Jeff,

I just wondered how you were doing? Hope you're still doing well? My Dad found out that his WBC is 178k, we were expecting it to be a lot lower than that. Feel really shaken and I don't know what that means

     Hi ilovemyparents

Thanks for asking as it is I'm doing really well and my oncologist is really pleased with my progress,in fact the only thing he is worried about is my,,,,football team as I'm a Stoke City fan and he follows Liverpool, but joking apart I'm really well so I hope that things can go well for you're dad in the future,as I have said I'm not really up on the wbc but I'm sure his team will keep a good eye on you're dad,so try not to worry too much and if you need to talk to someone I'm always here, although I do have a lot of trouble with my I pad and trying to write things so if it seems jumbled forgive me as I'm getting old hee hee,so until the next time take care.
