Beat Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma

Hi. I’m 2.5 years post Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. No typical symptoms, just a wheeze with a chest infection. Scan was done. Tumour found in my lung and mediastinum. 6 months of chemo back in Feb 2023. Lost all my hair. Given the all clear July 2023. If I hadn’t of gone to the drs when I did or didn’t have the chemo, my oncologist said I would be dead within 6 months. Feeling better but still fatigued and have got tinnitus from the chemo. 3 monthly checks have gone to yearly. I’m very fortunate but I still worry it will come back. I’m not the same person I was before cancer. A quieter and less tolerant of any nonsense now. Family so important to me. Got rid of some friends who weren’t there for me. I’m sure they would argue that they were. Just wanted to let people who may have a similar diagnosis that there is hope.

  • Hello BHippy and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

Thank you for posting your experience of facing stage 4 cancer. It's very inspiring to me and to other members on the forum I'm sure. Coming out of something like this will change a person, but it sounds like your family have been a great support. Moving on is not a linear path by any means and it's normal to have worries about the future, so it's important to look after yourself and your wellbeing. If you ever need advice or information, we have the Life Beyond Cancer hub available on our website.

    Best wishes,
