New here : Cancer free from Ovarian

Hi all,

I am new here and would like to introduce myself. My name is Karen and I’ve recently been told i am cancer free from Ovarian cancer! I am having infusions every three weeks and therapy drugs for two years. I’m still out of work and struggling with the feeling of being cancer free but I’m still having ongoing treatment. I’m trying to adjust to a new ‘normal’ but missing my old life. Reaching out as I would appreciate a chat with anyone going through the same experience. Take care, Karen x

  • Hi Karen,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. This is good to hear - although I understand what you say about the struggles and the adjustments.

I wanted to send a reply to your post to give it a little boost, so a few more people should see it and hopefully you'll get more replies - particularly if others with similar experience see it.

We're always here for support if you need it and I hope that the forum can be useful for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    1. Hi Karen ,

I too am in remission from ovarian cancer . Debulking surgery Jan24 followed by 6 rounds of chemo which finished July24 now in remission no meds just regular blood tests and scans .

I found it helpful to make a list of things I wanted to do after treatment . They don’t have to big holidays , just a coffee and a chat with a friend .

I also upped my exercise , just walking and online yoga run by a cancer charity . I also found the charity Ovarian Cancer Action really helpful as they offer advice , yoga , info on treatments and most importantly a supportive network of women who have or are experiencing exactly what you are feeling . It really helps talking to someone in the same boat .

Hope that helps . All the best .
