Cleared through mums clothes

I feel very sad and guilty I did that. I lost my mum in 2019 to breast, lung, bone and liver cancer.

she was 45 and I was 19.

it took my 6 years to clear through it all and I feel so sad. I had it collected by a charity and I feel so sad it’s all gone

  • Hi amygriefwithmama and welcome to the forum.

It must have been very difficult to finally say goodbye to your mum's clothes but please don't feel guilty for what you did.

It's perfectly natural to feel sad after parting with belongings that were so personal and maintained that connection with your mum, but just remember that even though those items of clothing have gone now your mum will always be with you in your heart and through all those treasured memories you have of her when she was alive.

I know this doesn't make this any less painful but I hope you can take some comfort from knowing that your mum's clothes have gone to a good cause and that the charity will really appreciate all your donations.

We're thinking of you amygriefwithmama and sending you all of our support at this very challenging time.

    Kind regards,
