  • Hello Liz70

I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling so very low since completing chemotherapy treatment. From the many posts I've read here on the forum, you are not alone in feeling this way. Many people find that after a phase of active treatment ends, they struggle with low mood. You have been through so much over the last few months whilst undergoing treatment, and now that this has ended, it's understandable that your body and mind have perhaps started to process all that has happened, and this can leave you experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions.

Do you have a clinical nurse specialist, Liz70? If so, I'd really encourage you to talk with them about how you're feeling. You can also talk with your GP for advice and support on managing your low mood.

Many people find that talking can help to process things as well. It may be that there is a Maggie's in your local area that you can visit or your cancer team will know what other services are available locally. If you'd prefer to chat things through with one of our nurses for some advice and information, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). I know they will be happy to listen and offer any support they can.

Try to take things a day at a time Liz70 and remember that you have been through a lot - both physically and psychologically since your diagnosis. It will take time to find a new normal but with the help of the health professionals responsible for your care and the support of family and friends, I hope that things will improve for you soon.

    Sending you my best wishes,
