Recovery from using Anastrozole

Hi I have had all my treatment and have been discharged from hospital . I was put on the drug letrozole which did not agree with me but then changed me to Anastrozole which was even worse causing terrible pain in knees , hips , shoulders , ankles , wrists .

I have come off the drug as couldn’t cope with the pain any longer . Been off it 4 weeks now but just wanted to ask others out there how long does the pain last until it’s out of my system as feel good one day then in agony the next .

    I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you've been having with Letrozole and now Anastrazole.

    So many of our members will be very familiar with the issues you've mentioned, so you are not alone Shazzie, and I'm sure it won't be long until some of them stop by to share their experiences and advice.

    We also have a team of cancer nurses you can discuss this with on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to answer support you and answer your questions about this and anything else that may be playing on your mind at the moment.

    We're thinking of you Shazzie64 and I hope the pain you've been experiencing starts to lessen soon.

    Thanks for the reply I will give the nurses a call as I have tried contacting my cancer nurse and I can’t leave a messsge with them as they never answer the phone .
