Mass found on CT after TNBC all clear

Hello, I’m waiting for an urgent PET CT scan after my consultants found a mass in the right upper apex of my lung today. It’s in the radiation zone of where I had 15 days of radiotherapy in January 2024 so there’s a chance it could be fibrosis or scarring. But given the aggressive nature of TNBC it feels pretty unlikely to me that this will be harmless.

Has anyone had this after TNBC?

  • Hello again Atq1988,

I read your latest update and replied to you in your other thread but just wanted to respond here too to say we're thinking of you and I hope that you find out more soon. I really hope that it ends up being nothing to worry about - I am keeping everything crossed for you.

I hope that you will hear from others here who have had something like this after TNBC as it does help to hear from the experiences of others who have been through something similar.

You are understandably anxious at the moment and it's a time when every hour can drag by so slowly, when you have to act normally as you said around your family and your loved ones but feel scared inside. That's why this forum is a safe space for you to talk to others who can relate and who have been through this before. Perhaps you could also give our cancer nurses a call on their free helpline 0808 800 4040 as it may well help to talk things through with them - you can ring them Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will have this PET CT scan very soon and that you won't have to wait too long to get a bit of clarity on all this as there's nothing worse than not knowing and feeling a bit in limbo. While you are waiting though, I thought I would share with you our helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

We'll be thinking of you in the coming days.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie
