The first anniversary

21st November 2023 I was in hospital. I shall always be thankful for the surgeons and other health staff. The first anniversary is a milestone of processing acceptance of having had cancer. Next chest, abdomen, pelvis CT scan on 2nd December, in a local hospital.

  • Hello Mary Its hard to believe its been a year since those wonderful surgeons operated on you and performed a miracle that you can't actually take in considering what they had to do to save your life , I remember you first saying you were going to be operated on by the top surgeons in the UK but I don't think any of us realised just what would entail ,it was far more than we imagined that's why I like to call it a miracle because those guys have a God given talent to do that kind of operation ,

I remember when you were in hospital and wondering how you were doing because it seemed such a long time of not hearing from you not knowing at that time how big the op had been .I can't actually remember how long you were in the hospital but I remember you posting on here and letting us know you had got through it ,what a journey and its been so lovely catching up with you and hearing how you are getting a little strong every week and starting to do little things around the house amazing ,

Well Mary here's hoping your next scan goes well I'm sure it will ,its then that you and your husband will have the best and most memorable Christmas ever ,you truly deserve it ,keep us informed Mary I love hearing how you are doing ,Best Wishes to you and your Husband    Jenny xx

  • Thank you. I was in the "hospital of excellence" for five and a half weeks! I'll let you know the result of the scan.

  • My sarcoma consultant told me that I am  fine! He will see me again in March next year after I have had a chest x-ray and I will have a CT scan in June. Best Christmas present!

  • Mary that is the best gift ever you could have wished for at Christmas ,I am so happy for you it has made my Christmas too ,now you can relax and enjoy your best Christmas ever ,well done to you and all involved in your care have a very "Happy Christmas"  and have a wonderful New year  and please keep in touch x

  • Today is a very good first anniversary - last year on 29th December I came home from hospital

  • Hi Mary yes its a very happy Anniversary and how time flies ,I'm so glad it all went well for you and that this year you were able to enjoy Christmas at home ,you've done so well and got through your scans etc with no problem long may it continue ,all thanks to the skills of your surgeons and other medical staff and of course your will power to get well again ,all I can say is keep doing what you are doing slowly and surely getting more confident and stronger every day and also to wish you and your Husband a very happy and healthy New Year ,God Bless Jenny x
