Lucky to be cancer free

I’m lucky that post surgery I have been told that I’m cancer free. I had my left upper lung removed and with it the tumour and the lymph nodes were clear. However, I’m getting pain on the drain site when doing the walking exercises. The site is still not properly healed. I’d appreciate any advice as to whether this is normal

thanks x

  • It's great to hear you've been given the all clear Cuddly_Moon although I'm sorry to hear about the pain you've been experiencing on the drain site when doing your walking exercises.

Unfortunately I can't say whether this is normal or not but our cancer nurses should be able to help so if you'd like to get their thoughts on this, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Hopefully you will receive some support and advice soon from some of our members who may have experienced this but in the meantime, do make sure your medical team are aware of this as they will be in the best position to advise and put your mind at ease.

    Kind regards,
