I was the same with tamoxifen, it was helish. Thankfully they tested my menopausal status and as I was deemed post menopausal I was put on anastrozole. There was little difference on anastrozole but it did allow me to go on sertraline which did stop the night sweats and cut down the number of hot flushes through the day. 

I'm not sure what can be done while on tamoxifen, if there was a cure I would have found it - hopefully others will come along soon with things that worked for them.
