Letrazole isn't always horrible

There are a fair few posts on here talking about the awful side effects of Letrazole. Having read lots of them I was determined I did not want to take it. However, that was 18 months ago.

After discussions with my oncologist, he said that research had shown that Letrazole was just as effective as chemo. Having been through 16 grueling chemo treatments I felt I might as well give it a go and see what happens.

The only side effects that I have had are hot flushes. At night they were particularly bad and would wake me about 30 times a night. Leaving me so tired. The oncologist told me to switch taking the Letrazole to night instead of morning. Also saying that I would need to wait for about 6 weeks to see if it made a difference. The good news is that it has made a big difference.

2 clear mammograms later and I am feeling better than I have done in years.I go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, play bowls and am always busy. FYI I am 69

  • Hello Bionic

I just wanted to pop on and thank you for sharing your positive experience with Letrozole. It's great to hear that although you've had some side effects you've found them to be manageable and that your most recent scans have brought good news.

We so often hear about people's negative experiences that I'm sure your post will offer hope to someone else who may be about to embark on this part of their treatment plan.

    Best wishes,
