Sorry to hear this lynf, you best advice is doctor or nurse team call & get appointment at GP. You didn't say what treatment was for where? I have had & still sometimes do have a sore tongue. GP did blood test said low vit B12. Took advice bought the vitamins  & now not quite so bad. Also stopped eating crisps seems to make a difference. Think it's the side effect of Letrazole.  Hope you feel better soon. Pip

Lynf see the GP can prescribe a substitute spray  that's like saliva. Mum had some many years ago.

Sorry lynf,I bet you have tried most things. It takes a toll on us, be kind to yourself drink when you can nibble what you can . Does ice or bitter lemon help. I hope this improves soon. Pip

Hi LynF, I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time and feeling so low. I had chemo for breast cancer which left me with changes to my taste buds that meant most things tasted absolutely horrid. I was so hungry all the time, went to bed with a grumbly tum. It was MISERABLE and so was I. On my worst days I just had ice cream and porridge all day. It's still not 100% back to normal 4 months since completing chemo, but it is much better. I hope you will turn a corner very soon. Have you considered some counselling? I think Macmillan offer six free sessions. Or you could just call the Macmillan support line. I've used them several times and they really helped me cope with feelings of anxiety 0808 808 00 00.

Hi Case4 

I have spoken with Mcmillian they are fantastic, I was able to tell them how I was feeling and cry without feeling I was moaning. Someone to listen and understand really makes a difference.  I have fantastic family and friends but try to remain positive around them if I can
