Marvellous NHS

I would just like to thank everyone involved with the NHS.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 11.5 years ago and received both radiotherapy (37x2Gy) plus hormone therapy for 7 years, wow and still here to tell the tale!

I have just been diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer (Local), so my point is this, after receiving radiotherapy, it is quite possible you could get cancer again because of the initial treatment.

Please be aware everyone!

  • Hello hollyfish

I just wanted to post a quick reply to say thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure that at some point in the future it will reassure someone who finds themselves diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I'm sorry to hear about your more recent diagnosis of bladder cancer. Hopefully the team will be able to get you started with treatment soon. I know we've a couple of people here who have had bladder cancer or have a loved one who has been through treatment for the same. Hopefully they will be able to share their positive experiences with you.

If you want to chat anything through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    Best wishes,
